What's YES Weekend all about?

The first YES (Youth Enrichment Seminar) Weekend was held in February, 1986 with approximately 280 young people from around the southeast in attendance. Since then, YES Weekend has grown to have attendances of over 1,000. Its success is built upon its motivating speakers, timely lessons, fantastic fellowship, great fun and spiritual growth. YES Weekend is designed for 6th through 12th grade and College students. The premise behind the seminar is to prepare our young people to make sound decisions in their lives. We feel it is our responsibility to guide and direct our children in the way they should go. This will, as God has stated, help them as they grow old (Proverbs 22:6). The impact we have on our youth is so great and we must keep them excited about Christianity. YES Weekend is such an avenue. It is our hope and prayer to continue to lead our young people in the path of righteousness. We also hope you take advantage of YES Weekend to help prepare your young people for the future.

2018 YES Theme

Endure:

[verb] to suffer (something painful or difficult) patiently.

We all fall short when we compare ourselves to our Savior. What does it mean to Endure as a Christian? What does it cost? How do I mentally and physically handle mountains of obstacles pulling me from attaining a crown in Heaven? Matthew 16:18, Christ said the Church will Endure. This year, our prayer is to allow God to show us how.

What Obstacles did Paul (and likely others) Endure?

Imprisonment; countless beatings; near death; 200+ Lashings; 3x Beaten with Rod; Stoned; 3x Shipwrecked; Lost at Sea; Exhausted Journeys; Dangers in the Wild; Land and Sea; Danger from Robbers and my own people In and out of towns, countless hardships; sleepless nights; starvation; thirst; cold; exposed; tired, and stressed. Most of all, daily anxiety for all churches. Who is weak? I am not weak? Who is made to Fall? I am not. If I must boast, I will boast in the things that show my weakness. 2 Corinthians 11 (paraphrased)
